Buell Intuitive Response Chassis (IRC) The Buell chassis is the stiffest ever offered by Buell and its rigidity is aided by the engine, which is a stressed member of the frame.

- Inside frame construction includes air flow channels for heat dispersion and efficient airflow.

Front Suspension The fully adjustable 43 mm Showa® inverted fork features a high performance damping cartridge that lets you adjust the setup for any situation. Whether it's at the track or the ride home, you can optimise the suspension for excellent feedback and razor sharp handling.

Rear Suspension To match the stiffness of the main chassis, the 1125CR™ uses a fully adjustable 47 mm Showa® inverted fork, contributing to superior feel and greater feedback. Spring rates and damping are optimized for agility and responsiveness.

ZTL-2™ Front Brake Proven through multiple wins in AMA Pro Racing, the Buell Zero Torsional Load (ZTL-2™) front brake utilizes a 4-pad, 8-piston caliper and single 375 mm rotor. The caliper casting was optimized for clamp stiffness, yielding a more progressive and connected braking feel to the rider. New for 2010, the flycut ZTL-2™ logo adds a trick look to the caliper. The rim-mounted design eliminates the need for load-bearing spokes or even a second disc, resulting in a front-end assembly that is significantly lighter than competitive designs.

6-spoke Cast Aluminum Wheels The Buell 6-spoke front wheel is extremely light, reducing steering inertia and unsprung weight for better handling on the track or less-than-perfect streets.

Pirelli® Diablo Corsa III Tires Pirelli® Diablo Corsa III tires feature a three-zone compound for optimum street and track use.

Instrument Cluster with ODIS Compact yet easy to read, the instrument cluster is next-generation technology for Buell. Featuring ODIS (On-board Diagnostic Information System), it is cradled in a lightweight, magnesium module and features:
- Gear position display as a scroll-to function.
- Analog tachometer with integrated shift light.
- Digital speedometer on LED display.
- ODIS service code display.
- 4-digit security system with ignition immobilizer.

Buell® 1125 cc Helicon™ Engine Development of the Helicon™ engine was driven solely by our desire to achieve the perfect power delivery, regardless of displacement. 1125 cc presented itself as the solution to achieving this. Working with BRP Powertrain GmbH & Co. KG, a premier manufacturer of high-performance engines, the result is a lightweight, fast-revving, big-bore, short-stroke engine with broad and seamless power, hitting 146 hp just before the 10,500 rpm redline. But what makes this engine so addictive is the torque curve. It's virtually flat, topping out at a stunning 82 ft./lbs. And with only 8 ft./lbs. of variation along the entire powerband, you'll find that you're almost always in the right gear.

Helicon™ - Innovative Valve Train Design Featuring dual overhead cams, a self-adjusting hydraulic chain drive and magnesium valve covers, the valve train design is both lightweight and very compact. Actuated by F-1 racing-inspired finger followers, the valves are quick to open for improved throttle response and power delivery. This technology reduces friction and permits a quicker valve opening due to reduced weight. Shim replacement is quick and easy due to the unique follower retention system.

RAM Air System Using computational fluid dynamics to optimize the air flow, the RAM air system pressurizes the air box for a performance gain at speeds over 80 mph.
Underslung Exhaust The exhaust features a large-volume muffler mounted below the engine for Mass Centralization. The muffler is tuned to produce a linear horsepower and torque curve without the need for an active exhaust.

Hydraulic Vacuum Assist (HVA) Slipper-action Clutch The smooth clutch lever effort and slipper-like action mechanism reduces engine braking during hard deceleration and enhances the overall rider experience.

Weight At just 375 pounds dry, the 1125R® is extremely lightweight. It feels quick and nimble, and makes cornering transitions effortless.
Quiet Zone Cockpit Quiet Zone Cockpit is the result of a front fairing and windshield design driven by Computational Fluid Dynamics analysis and aerodynamic testing. It optimizes airflow to reduce drag and increase rider comfort.
Fuel Capacity With 5.3 gallons of fuel contained in the frame as near to the motorcycle's center of gravity as possible, the rider is able to spend more time on the road enjoying the resulting light, nimble handling and less time at the fuel pump.
Tail Section The rear section is clean and sleek with a passenger seat hidden under an easily removable cowling.
Mass Centralization - The 72-degree V-angle allows a more compact engine than 90-degree alternatives, allowing the engine mass to be located forward in the chassis. The front wheel carries 54 percent of the vehicle weight for handling and stability, while the center of gravity remains low.
- Massive aluminum frame doubles as a 5.3-gallon fuel reservoir, to carry fuel closer to the bike's center of gravity.
- Radiators are mounted longitudinally between the front wheel and the frame, placing their weight lower and closer to the center of gravity than a more traditional front-mounted radiator.
- The muffler and exhaust catalyst are located below the engine, rather than high and behind the rider.
Low Unsprung Weight - The Buell Zero Torsional Load (ZTL-2™) front brake utilizes an 8-piston caliper and single 375 mm rotor mounted directly to the rim, producing outstanding stopping power. The rim-mounted design eliminates the need for load-bearing spokes or even a second disc, resulting in a front-end assembly that is significantly lighter than competitive designs. The caliper casting was optimized for clamping stiffness, yielding a more progressive and connected braking feel to the rider.
- The rear brake caliper is mounted directly to the swingarm, saving the weight of a bracket.
- A new-generation Goodyear® Hibrex® final drive belt with Flexten® Plus technology weighs just 1.06 pounds, saving 4 to 5 pounds.
Performance and Handling - Powerful Helicon™ engine 1125 cc, 72-degree, liquid-cooled, V-twin engine produced through a partnership with BRP Powertrain GmbH & Co. KG. detailed engine specifications were provided by Buell, as well as contributions in technology and engineering on several key areas. The Helicon™ engine is exclusive to Buell.

Rear Brake The rear brakes utilize a two-piston caliper and a 240 mm stainless steel rotor. The caliper is mounted directly to the inner surface of the swingarm, hidden from view. The caliper weighs 1.5 pounds less than a typical carrier-equipped rear caliper system, reducing unsprung weight and complexity.
Steel Braided Brake Lines Both rear and front brakes are fitted with steel braided brake lines for a better correlation of lever pressure to brake pressure resulting in improved brake feel.
Immediate Throttle Response Belt Drive A unique constant-tension pulley eliminates slack in the driveline, resulting in smoother on/off throttle transitions no matter what position the swingarm is in. Clean, quiet and extremely strong, the Goodyear® Hibrex® belt with Flexten® Plus technology never requires adjustments of any kind. It's extremely light, weighing just 1.06 pounds.
Turn Signals and LED Taillight A new high-intensity LED taillight and new rear turn signals improve visibility for other drivers. LED front turn signals are incorporated into the aerodynamic mirror housing.
Adjustable Levers With rider comfort in mind, Buell features brake and clutch levers that are adjustable for reach. Foot controls (brake and shifter) feature toe pegs that adjust to rider foot size.
Footpegs The footpeg placement keeps you in an aggressive riding stance to optimize your ability to quickly shift your weight around the bike while still allowing for a comfortable body position that reduces weight and pressure on your hands.
Convenience Features Tie-down hooks on the tail section make it easy to secure extra gear.
Battery Tender Plug New for 2010, a battery tender plug comes standard and is conveniently located underneath the passenger seat for easy access.
72 degree V-twin The look, sound, and feel of a V-twin engine deliver the character and superior ride experience you expect on a Buell. The 72-degree V-angle creates a compact, efficiently packaged engine and allows additional weight to be distributed to the front of the bike. It also allows for inclusion of an optimum downdraft fuel intake system.

Magnesium Valve Covers Durable and lightweight, the magnesium valve covers are another example of how Buell is able to keep the overall weight of the motorcycle extremely low.
Counter Balancing Three counter-balancers minimize vibration across the rev range. Their small size and light weight reduce rotating mass for better engine responsiveness.
12-Liter Air Box The large, 12-liter air box is designed to optimize air intake and accommodate a large, easy-to-service air filter.
Closed Loop Fuel Injection System, DDFI 3 EFI 61 mm Dual Throttle Bodies Immediate throttle response in any environment is delivered by the Helicon™ motor's closed loop FI system. It provides constant feedback to the ECU based on environment and ensures an efficient mixture control system, resulting in smoother throttle operation and better fuel economy. The 61 mm dual throttle bodies allow for superior air intake and optimum engine performance.
Dry Sump Oiling with Integrated Oil Reservoir Located in the Lower Crankcase The dry sump improves power by increasing efficiency, while the integrated oil reservoir at the lower left side of engine keeps the engine compact and fluids low, contribNew for 2010uting to Mass Centralization. New for 2010, a sightglass has been added to the crankcase to make checking the oil level easy.
Headlamps The headlamps are incorporated into the front fairing and feature a six-bulb headlight system.
Handlebars Clip-on style bars. The riding position helps use your body's weight to move the bike through turns. Confident and in control, it offers great communication between rider and machine.
6-speed, Close Ratio Transmission The 6-speed, close-ratio transmission provides the rider the right gear on any ride and any situation. The Helicon™ powertrain stacks the primary and secondary drives to yield a more compact overall design. This increases front weight distribution to aid in anti-squat and improve suspension response. It also allows Buell engineers to design a forward placement of swingarm pivot, providing room for a longer swingarm and better overall handling.
Windscreen Tinted windscreens add some style to provide a custom look.
Compensated Front Sprocket By placing the compensation function in the transmission output sprocket rather than the wheel sprocket, unsprung weight is reduced, helping to improve handling.
Advanced Cooling System Before it saw any air, Buell's Advanced Cooling System was subjected to a healthy dose of radical ingenuity. Instead of relying on air churned up by the front wheel, Buell engineers routed virgin air through a split radiator, along the specially channeled frame, and cleanly out the back of the bike. And should you lowside during a track day, the performance scoops are designed to act like frame-sliders, helping to prevent damage to parts of the bike that are a lot more painful to replace.
