Rider Focused Design
The rider environment has to be engineered with the same focus and intensity as the bike’s responsiveness and power. It’s a major part of what makes a riding experience really good or just good enough. Nothing is taken for granted. The shape of the bodywork, the layout of the gauges, even the texture of the footpegs. You’ll find that every Buell® motorcycle is loaded with rider- friendly designs that are proven to make your riding experience the very best it can be.
Rider Focused Design
Ergonomics
Studying how a rider will interact with a motorcycle starts early in the development process. It begins by looking at the kind of riding each bike is designed for. We then create a riding position that delivers the most confidence and the best level of comfort without inhibiting the ability to shift and move during aggressive riding.
Orthographic illustrations are used to help map the effects of handlebar, footpeg and seat placement on rider ergonomics.
Rider Focused Design
Protection
Across our entire line, you’ll find innovations designed to protect you from things like wind, rain, cold, heat, even sound and vibrations. The fewer distractions you’re exposed to, the more focused you’ll be on the road.
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analyses allow engineers to further optimize the airflow around the rider.

Convenience
Common sense is the rule when it comes to convenience features. If it’s not simple to use, it won’t get used at all. So things like instrument panels, passenger accommodations and luggage options are all influenced not only by how useful they are, but how intuitive they are.
Our commitment to functionality and simplicity is evident in features such as our patented Triple Tail™ System, which switches easily between three positions.
