Why is Harley-Davidson Motor Company discontinuing the Buell™ product line after the recent new product introductions, racing success and new Brand efforts?
Harley-Davidson Motor Company made the decision to discontinue the Buell™ product line as part of its strategy to focus on growth through the Harley-Davidson® Brand.
What will happen to the Buell™ motorcycles currently in Retailer inventory?
Buell™ Retailers will sell remaining motorcycle inventories. There will be no more Buell™ motorcycles produced.
Why should I buy a new Buell™ when you are discontinuing production?
The innovative features and overall quality of Buell™ motorcycles provide an outstanding ownership experience. The Company may be discontinuing the production of Buell™ motorcycles, but they are extremely exciting motorcycles to ride and own. The Company will continue to provide normal warranties on new motorcycles and provide parts and service support. Buell™ motorcycles offer an overall value proposition that is very compelling.
How good of a deal can I get on a new Buell™ model?
See your local Buell™ Retailer for their remaining available inventory and prices.
Will I be able to get financing for a new Buell™ model?
HDFS will continue to finance Buell™ motorcycles. Please see your Retailer for details.
How will I get my Buell™ motorcycle serviced? Will you honour my warranty?
Authorized Buell™ Service Providers will provide warranty, service and repair work. Harley-Davidson Motor Company expects to be providing replacement and service parts for as many years as required, market by market. Of course we will honour all of our warranties.
Does the fact that you are discontinuing the Buell™ product line not adversely impact my motorcycle resale value?
It would be speculative to try to predict future motorcycle residual values.
Will I still be able to get Buell™ Brand MotorClothes® apparel?
You will be able to purchase Buell™ MotorClothes® apparel for as long as supplies last. Buell Motorcycle Company will no longer produce branded MotorClothes® apparel.
Why does Harley-Davidson, Inc. not just sell Buell Motorcycle Company to someone else?
The Company indicates that it has chosen to discontinue the Buell™ product line as opposed to selling the business, in part because of how it has been integrated into the Harley-Davidson® business systems and distribution network.
What happens to Buell™ Chairman and Chief Technical Officer Erik Buell?
Erik Buell and Harley-Davidson Inc. are having ongoing discussions regarding how he will serve in an advisory role at Harley-Davidson in new areas of product development and advanced products.
Are any of the Brand’s models going to be available as Harley-Davidson® models?
Harley-Davidson Motor Company has no plans to produce Buell™ motorcycles as Harley-Davidson® products.
Will Harley-Davidson Motor Company be using any Buell™ designs or incorporating Buell™ technology into the Harley-Davidson® product line?
Buell Motorcycle Company has introduced many advancements in motorcycle design and technology over the years. Harley-Davidson Motor Company will continue to benefit from that knowledge going forward and it is possible that some of this technology will find its way into a Harley-Davidson® motorcycle.
