Harley-Davidson safety equipment includes a leather jacket, approved safety helmet, gloves, padded over-trousers and waterproofs. We do not supply footwear. Please ensure that you bring a good pair of sturdy boots along with you (steel toe capped boots are not recommended).
For all courses, you will be required to prove your ability to read a vehicle number plate from a distance of 20 metres (67 feet), with or without optical aids.
For all courses you will be asked to produce a copy of your driving licence. Please bring both parts if you have a photocard licence.
NOTE: If you have a foreign driving licence, and have lived in the UK for 12 months, you must exchange it at the DVLA for a UK licence.
In the interests of safety all riders must attend the theory session at the start of each course and successfully complete the basic competency exercises prior to riding on the highway.
We operate a gift certificate scheme. Allowing you to pay for a full course or contribute towards the cost of a course, vouchers are available from £100 upwards. Course fees are payable at time of booking and the following methods of payment are acceptable: Switch/Mastercard/Visa.
Cancellation Policy
Please note that we operate a cancellation policy. Postponement/re-arrangement incurs a £45 charge. All cancellations incur a 25% or £100 administration charge, whichever is the greater. A fee of 50% is payable for cancellations made within 14 days of the first day of the course and 75% within 7 days. All courses cancelled within 24 hours of their start date will be charged in full.On rare occasions the Driving Standards Agency may re-arrange/cancel motorcycle test dates at short notice. We will inform students of any changes to their test dates within 24hrs of receiving such instructions. Such changes are out of our control therefore neither Harley-Davidson, Rider's Edge or The Advanced Driving School Ltd are able to accept liability for losses incurred by such changes.
Insurance
All our motorcycles are fully insured for all road risks and the company has a comprehensive public liability insurance. However our packages do not include insurance to cover illness/personal injury, or other unplanned course cancellation. We would advise that you make your own arrangements in relation to this matter if you feel it may be appropriate.
Use of Facilities
Due to the nature of the Royal Welsh Showground, occasionally access to some of the facilities offered may be restricted. In this case suitable alternative facilities will be provided.
Alcohol
If requested, clients will be expected to provide a sample of breath prior to using any motorcycle owned or controlled by Rider's Edge. Failure to provide such a sample, or providing a positive sample, immediately bars any client from riding until a negative result is achieved.
